Nursery happyness

Growing up my Grandma always had a special room set up for me, when I'd visit. She had built my bed into the wall with little shutters. The curtains and decor was red & yellow with strawberries n' ladybugs all about the room. I just loved it! I wish every lil' girl could have a darling room.

My Grandma was always a thrifty one, and passed that onto me. I try to go as often as possible to a local thrift store (generally Goodwill) to find a treasure, for my camper or home. It's a nice time and very quick, out of the house excursion for me. I can go in there and for the most part find something adorable for under $5.

Sneak peek

This is my Darling girls' nursery, and just looking at this photo, I see every thing had come from a thrift shop. Even the Madame Alexander doll!
I had found  seven of them ranging from $5 - $12, can you believe it!!!
Grandma always said "Dolls were meant to be played with, not left on a shelf"
I make it a point to let my darling girls, enjoy their dollies.

A few of the hankies below, were my Great Grandmother Bernice's'; however, I've been slowly picking up the nursery ones for the girls.

I found the paper dolls on Etsy.com

Here I've strung up the pretty dresses and the paper~dolls in their petticoats. It gives this happy enduring feeling in the room.

After I made copies of the dolls n' their clothing, I had them laminated.  This way the originals, stayed untouched.

 Lil' girls and paper dolls:
Paper dolls have been around since paper; however, the "All American Paper Doll" was founded in the early 1800's by the McLaughlin Bros.
In the 1920's Milton Bradley purchased the Co. During this time the traditional paper dolls grew in popularity within the United States.

I may not have a Nanny to care for my children....

...but with some love from Mommy, a lil' prayer n' a dear hankie, all is well :)

Here's a cute lil' kitten serving up some goodness.

Every lil' girls ought to have a hankie around, when she has      the sniffles! And a vintage one is best!

I've loved lamps sense I was about 4 or 5 yrs old.

                                                                 Me about 8/9 yrs old.
My Daddy bought me one, and I had it for years! Somehow I lost her over time, but the sweet memory is still there!

I just feel in love with this child's photo album/scrapbook . The lil' dear girl reminded me of my Fi*fi.

Gi*gi holding a lamp, that resembles my lamb, when I was lil'....Well almost.
The 1950's curtains, we found at Seaside Oregon's, Goodwill. I've hooked my Grandma Earlanna's vintage brooches onto the curtains to give it that charming look.

Goodwill is almost always a great place to pick~up different verities of books and cards!
Reading vintage books to my girls and boys is a real treat in our house. They understand that ol' books are to be read, but with care! I think that it makes the reading moments that much more exciting!

Yaa!!! My LoVe for lambs has cought on ;)

Some Sweet pictures of the girls playing and loving on their stuffed lambs/teddies and I enjoy see old photo graphs of other lil' girls from times past, enjoy life in it's simplicities.
